Happy Anniversary!

For those of you who were not able to hear Joseph, Nancy, Cara and Andrea share their lessons from the WTO at our first Movment Building Conversation Series event on Novmenber 17th, we have an antidote: 10 lessons for Movment Building on the 10th anniversary of the WTO Shutdown. (PDF Attached)

In the article Ruben Solis of the Southwest Workers Union asks,"What has been accomplished in the last 10 years? How have our social movements developed to build power towards real social systemic change in the US?"

And the author Stephanie Guilloud of Project South closes by asking "What will we build over the next 10 years in order to shift, evolve, and grow our movements to win?"

These are exactly the questions creating democracy is trying to grapple with this year and we'd love your help. And we don't mean stop doing what your doing, rather continue doing what you're doing AND help us figure out how we can connect your essential world bettering ass kicking efforts to those of others in such a way that we grow. And grow. And win.

This week, if you're interested in movement building you should show up at the Hawthorne Bridge at noon this Saturday, December 5th(.org).

Next week, or in the months to follow, if you're interested in movement building, you should check out our Movement Building Conversation Series or contact us about our efforts to organize a People's Movement Assembly in portland this May.

Thanks all,

PS - Special thanks to Rising Tide and Jobs with Justice for keepin' it real and reminding us all that 10 years later, direct action gets the goods!
